Department of Civil Engineering

Yıldız Technical University Civil Engineering Department is the second oldest civil engineering department in Türkiye, with a history closely tied to the university itself. The department operates under the Construction Engineering Division of the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. It offers thesis-based master's and doctoral programs in the fields of Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Coastal and Harbor Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Building Materials, and Non-Thesis Master's in Construction Management.

About

The undergraduate education is conducted in two separate programs, with 30% in English and 100% in English. Under the Department of Civil Engineering within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, thesis-based master's and doctoral programs are offered in the fields of Construction, Geotechnical, Hydraulic, Coastal and Harbor Engineering, Structural Mechanics, Transportation, and Building Materials. Additionally, a non-thesis master's program is conducted in Construction Management.

In order for a student to be eligible for a capstone project, they must successfully complete a number of courses that account for at least 75% of the total credits in the curriculum (120 credits) and have a GPA of at least 2.00.
 

You can obtain a hard copy with a wet signature from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Secretariat, or a barcoded copy through the e-Government portal.

1-) In the event of illness, provided it is documented by a medical certificate covering at least 3 days

2-) If a student’s parent, spouse, sibling, or other close relative passes away or suffers an illness or accident on a date that would prevent the student from taking the exam

3-) If the student is involved in an accident, or is unable to arrive in time for the exam due to an accident even if not directly involved

4-) In the event the student is affected by a natural disaster

5-) In the event of the student’s arrest or detention

6) If the student has been assigned to participate in a national or international competition, sporting event, or similar activity

Within 3 (three) days after the excuse period ends, you must apply to the Department Chair and submit the required documents.

Newly enrolled students can pick up their student ID cards from their department’s student affairs office. It may take up to one month for the cards to arrive at the department after registration. In case of loss, damage, or other issues, you can pick up a new card from the E-Yıldız office.
